Hever Moncayo

Dr. Moncayo's research interests include guidance, navigation and control, modeling and simulation of aerospace systems, intelligent/adaptive fault tolerant flight control algorithms. He is an Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and an Associate Editor of the Journal Aerospace Science and Technology. He is also member of the AIAA Intelligent Systems Committee.

    Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering

    Michael Budihartono

    Michael was born in Surabaya, Indonesia. He started his studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide campus in Singapore and transferred to the Daytona Beach campus to complete his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering in Fall 2021. Currently, he is pursuing his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering degree with a focus on dynamics and control. He joined the Advanced Dynamics and Control group in Fall 2022 with research interests in multi-agent systems. During his free time, he enjoys playing golf, watching movies, and traveling.

    Rocio Jado

    Rocio was born in Logrosan, Spain. She obtained her B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Technical University of Madrid. She is studying a dual M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering at the European University of Madrid and currently, she is finishing it at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She has joined the Advanced Dynamics and Control Group in Fall 2022, with research interest in spacecraft control. In her free time, Rocio likes to read, draw and listen to music.

    Stephen Brutch

    Stephen was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently, he is pursuing his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering degree with a focus on dynamics and control. He joined the Advanced Dynamics and Control group in Spring 2023 with research interests in quadcopter navigation and control. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, drinking coffee, and learning Spanish.

    Gabriela Gavilanez

    Gabriela is from Quito, Ecuador. After studying for a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, she followed her passion for spacecrafts and autonomous systems and transferred to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to complete her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering in the Fall of 2022. Currently, she is pursuing her M.S. in Aerospace Engineering. As a part of the Advanced Dynamics and Control Group, her research interest is machine learning architectures for synthetic data generation. She also likes to cook, play pool, watch movies, and listen to music.

    Ayush Raminedi

    Ayush is from Hyderabad, India. He followed his passion for airplanes and graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering in May 2022. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering with a focus in Dynamics and Control systems. As a member of the Advanced Dynamics and Controls lab, his research interests lie in Urban Aerial Mobility. He also likes to travel, visit new places and loves to play and watch cricket.

    Sebastian Leon

    Sebastian is from Rionegro, Colombia. He graduated in 2023 from the Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia with a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering after doing an internship in the Advanced Dynamics and Controls Lab, where he found a passion for autonomous vehicles and space systems. He is currently pursuing his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Dynamics and Control Systems, specially in the area of fault-tolerant control. He joined the Advanced Dynamics and Control Lab in Fall 2023 with research interests in Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery algorithms. Sebastian also likes to play tennis and golf, and graphic design.

    Alberto Squatrito

    Alberto was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on dynamics and controls. He joined the Advanced Dynamics and Controls group in Summer 2023 and is conducting research on GPS modeling, spoofing, and machine learning. He enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time with family.
